How to Diet: One Great Trick To Help You Stick To Your Diet
Last night I had an early dinner (8:30), for my standards, which I usually don’t have, but yesterday I had to spend all afternoon walking and got home really hungry. Fortunately my girlfriend had a some smashed aubergine that I ate with some whole grain bread. I know your are not supposed to eat carbs at night, but the fact that I had been walking for the past 5 hours gave me the right to eat a couple slices.
Two hours later I was hungry again and I had some cravings. I’m human so I do get cravings. I tried to ignore them, but I knew I wasn’t going to be able to fall asleep feeling like this. So I went to the fridge and I got a slice of roast beef, a couple slices of tomatoes, and my late night protein shake.
Do you know why I didn’t eat ice cream or a bag of chips? It is not because I’m super human and have a great ability to withstand temptation. Believe me when I have a bag of chips in my hand I will eat it all no matter how big it is.
You want to know my secret? I simply don’t buy them.
I live by a simple rule: If you don’t buy it you don’t eat it. When you go shopping for groceries, try to go on a full stomach. Shopping on an empty stomach will not help you make the right choices; you’ll most likely end up succumbing to your cravings.
I like to go grocery shopping after lunch or after a healthy snack. This will put your brain in charge instead of your stomach.
