I remember the first time my back gave up on me;  I was 20 years old and in my second year of college.  It was the beginning of the semester and I had to go sign up for classes.  I had been in line for a couple of hours (on-line sign ups sheets didn’t exist back then), and when it was finally my turn, I bend over to sign and wasn’t able to get back up again.  The guy behind me had to help me sit down because I was in a lot of pain.  I couldn’t believe this was happening to me.

At the time I was training regularly several sports so I wasn’t out of shape.   For the first time in my life I felt old.  Eleven years later I feel a lot better than what I did back then, so my back ache had nothing to do with age.

Fortunately with age comes wisdom, and this wisdom can actually help us feel younger. I’m 31 and most people don’t believe me when they see me.  They say I look 21 or 25 (I prefer 21 though)!

My Secret

To tell you the truth I have never been a stretching or warm up guy.  I never really enjoyed that part of my training so I usually skipped it.  Now this is something you can probably get away with when you are a kid, but not when you are in your 20′s.  I found that out the hard way.

Warming up is not only key to avoid injuries, but to enhance performance.  Training with your muscles warmed up helps you get more juice out of every rep, and thus better results.  The exercises I’m about to show you are from a program I discovered a few years back called Intu-Flow.

Intu-Flow is like the modern fountain of youth.  Old people walk and move like old people because they stop moving and start losing their range of motion.  This is why they drag their feet and can’t get their hands above their heads.  If you don’t want to be one of these old people that complains about all those aches and pains we associate with “getting older” (you know what I’m talking about), I recommend you try this program out.  Flow is the name of the game.  Flow is what we begin to lose when we become more sedentary, and precisely what we must recover in order to regain our youth.

I’m not going to spend more time talking about this.  I just want you do try some of the exercises for free.  I’ll let Scott Sonnen explain to you what the program is really about, and then you can try out his mobility exercises.
